International Cancer Patient Coalition

My work at the University of Pennsylvania and my involvement in global health initiatives have been driven by a passion for addressing disparities in cancer care. From collaborating on projects in Sub-Saharan Africa to advancing access to radiation therapy in low-resource settings, I have seen firsthand how inequities in infrastructure, education, and healthcare delivery impact outcomes for patients. ICPC represents a groundbreaking opportunity to bridge these gaps through international collaboration, innovative strategies, and shared knowledge, ensuring that every patient, regardless of geography, has access to the best possible care.

As Chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society I have devoted myself to spreading community awareness as well as to supporting and empowering people living with cancer. My international discussions have convinced me that cooperation within and among regions is key to improving cancer control and research, and I see ICPC as an innovative bridge to effective collaboration.

The China Anti-Cancer Association, of which I am Vice-President, marshals forces in fighting cancer through scientific cooperation and conferences, promoting international non-governmental exchanges, training, and mobilizing social forces to disseminate knowledge of tumour prevention. I support ICPC in its bid to work closely with organizations and experts throughout the world to develop mutual collaboration.

After a lifetime establishing new standards in local responses to public health, particularly in Africa and Asia, I see that ICPC can become a real pioneering vehicle for international understanding on bringing innovation to cancer sufferers everywhere, and to mobilising new possibilities of prevention and early diagnosis.
