Walter Ricciardi, MD, MPH, MSc, Hon PhD, is a Professor of Hygiene and Public Health at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome. He is President of the Mission Board for Cancer of the European Commission, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Human Technopole Foundation, and advisor to the Italian Minister of Health on COVID-19. He has led the Italian National Institute of Health and served on the WHO Executive Board. Prof. Ricciardi is also an editor of several public health journals.
