The International Cancer Patient Coalition (ICPC) is convening a high-level working meeting aimed at advancing the global implementation of precision oncology. The event will bring together policymakers, clinicians, researchers, regulators, and patient advocates to transform international declarations into actionable, system-level policy reforms.
Despite major scientific breakthroughs—such as HER2-low classification, MRD surveillance, ctDNA-guided therapy, and radioligand treatment—many health systems continue to face barriers in testing, reimbursement, and infrastructure. This meeting will address these challenges head-on through targeted sessions and regional roadmaps.
Programme Highlights:
- Cancer-Focused Policy Sessions
Addressing standardization of HER2 and MRD testing, policy frameworks for NSCLC resistance mutations, reimbursement strategies for novel therapies, and the integration of radioligand therapy into national plans. - Regional Action Plans
Developing tailored solutions for Latin America and the MENA region to improve access to genomic testing, accelerate therapy approvals, and strengthen clinical trial participation. - Cross-Cutting Policy Priorities
Including regulatory harmonization, lab certification, sustainable financing, equitable access models, and capacity building for decentralized diagnostics and treatment delivery.
This meeting is designed to deliver tangible outputs that support countries in aligning their cancer care systems with the pace of scientific innovation.
